2013 HooHaa Film Challenge: My Life : Part One

As i write this (and quite possibly when you read this) a little padded envelope is floating around the pre-Christmas UK postal system, it was posted 11 days ago.
Inside this envelope is my colour film for this project. I usually develop all my own film with the exception of E6, but life in general and general laziness has recently pushed me to ship my colour work out. The guilt I feel for being so lazy is slightly dampened by the warm fuzzy feeling of supporting a film lab.

The project was simple, shot 2 rolls, 1 black and white and 1 colour. The theme was ‘My Life’.

All the images were shot on my beautifully beaten Nikon F3 with a E series 50mm f1.8 lens. I used Kodak Tri-X 400 and Fuji Superia 400. Thankfully I developed the Tri-X at home or I’d have nothing to show for my work.

My general way of working for this particular project was to keep the camera close by and shoot whatever inspired me at various times during the project. Some days I didn’t shoot anything and other days a frame or more.

This was taken the day I had a 3 hour dentist appointment, I went in for some prep work and then went for a walk whilst they prepared my new shiny ceramic tooth. Thankfully, Vire Island was close by and the weather was good.

I can’t really say much about my life without mentioning either of these 2. I have a son as well, but he’s camera shy (but I think I might have a sneaky shot on the colour roll).

This time a walk with the daughter, her running about and me loaded down with all the coats and of course my camera bag.

Although my photographic work is about 50/50 film and digital, I did find this hard at times, some days just weren’t that interesting, other days there was lots going on. Hopefully soon I shall have the colour roll back to add a part 2 to this.
